Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Extract API provided by Extract API OÜ ("we", "us"). By registering for an API key or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Extract API provides programmatic extraction of structured data from PDF freight documents via REST API. The Service is provided on an "as is" basis during beta/early access unless otherwise agreed in writing.

2. Account and API keys

• You must provide accurate registration information
• You are responsible for securing your API key and webhook secret
• One API key per registered account unless enterprise agreement states otherwise
• We may suspend keys that violate these Terms or pose security risks

3. Credits and billing

• Credits are consumed per successful, non-cached extraction
• Credit packs are sold via Stripe; prices listed at /pricing
• Credits are non-refundable except where required by law
• We may change pricing with 30 days notice

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

• Upload unlawful content or documents you lack rights to process
• Attempt to bypass rate limits, credit charges, or security controls
• Reverse engineer or scrape the Service beyond documented API use
• Use the Service to build a competing extraction product without written consent
• Resell API access without an authorised reseller agreement

5. Your data

You retain ownership of uploaded documents. You grant us a limited licence to process PDFs solely to provide the Service, including temporary storage, optional sub-processor OCR/LLM stages, and per-account result caching as described in the Data processing documentation. Our DPA at /dpa applies to personal data in documents.

6. Availability and SLA

Standard tier: best-effort availability, no guaranteed SLA. Enterprise SLA: 99.9% uptime — contact sales@extract.example.com .

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to fees paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. Extraction results are probabilistic — you must validate critical fields before automated decisions.

8. Termination

Either party may terminate by closing the account. We may terminate immediately for material breach. Upon termination, unused credits are forfeited unless required otherwise by law.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia . Disputes shall be resolved in Harju County Court, Tallinn .
